EDINA, Minn. (September 18, 2020) – In appreciation for the remarkable efforts of Lunds & Byerlys staff throughout this year of navigating the COVID-19 pandemic and civil unrest in and around some of its locations, the company is taking the rare step of closing all of its stores, production facilities and support offices on Friday, November 27 to provide its staff with an additional paid holiday. This is in addition to the company’s customary paid holiday for Thanksgiving on Thursday, November 26.
“What all of us have experienced together has certainly been unprecedented and so, too, has been the collective effort of our staff to face it all with a level of care, compassion and commitment to each other and our customers,” said Tres Lund, president and CEO of Lunds & Byerlys. “We know the gift of time is priceless, and we hope our staff is able to use this additional paid holiday to recharge and make even more great memories with their loved ones during the holiday season.”
This paid holiday is also in addition to appreciation pay that was given to all retail and food production staff in April and a profit-sharing bonus they will be awarded in November.
